Trends are fun, but they come and go, so today I want to talk about a few of my favorite everyday essentials. Now you’re going to have to bare with me a little bit, because the items I’m featuring today are from a variety of categories and may seem a little all over the place, but trust me, they’re all must haves.
1. Everyday Jewelry
First up we’ve got some simple everyday jewelry. By now, I’m sure you all know I’m a big fan of adding flair to an outfit with some statement jewelry pieces (I’m currently on a statement earring kick right now and you can find some of my favorites HERE), but it’s also great to have some simpler pieces you know you can wear everyday.
I recently discovered Finley, a new company whose mission is to provide high quality pieces without the middleman markups we’re used to seeing. They also have a focus on sustainability which I love.
To kick things off they’re running an awesome promotion where you can get your first piece free (not including shipping charges) to help spread the word and get people familiar with their products. We’re seeing more and more of these sorts of promos lately and I’m always a little hesitant to try them or even give new companies my info for fear that the products are crummy or worse yet, some sort of scam, but I tried this one and I can promise you it is neither. I opted to get the starter set with a ring, choker necklace, and earring set for $40 and I LOVE it! This is a crazy affordable option for some high quality pieces. The promo won’t last forever so be sure to jump on this one quick!
I’ve had my pieces for a few weeks now and have been wearing them almost daily and they’re still in perfect shape.
I love the simple design of this choker, but that it’s still pretty enough to wear on it’s own and it’s a perfect layering piece.
Lots of companies, (including my go to for statement jewelry Baublebar) are now introducing lines with higher quality simple everyday pieces. I haven’t personally gotten my hands on any of the pieces from their new line yet, but they look great (this one is my favorite) and based on the quality of their other pieces, I have no doubt they will hold up really well. The only drawback when compared to finely is that they’re more expensive.
2. Quip Toothbrush
Okay I know, aside from maybe a toddler, who is going to get all excited about a toothbrush?! Me. that’s who. I know it’s a little weird, but you guys, I’m seriously obsessed with this one. It’s affordable. It’s beautiful. And genuinely makes me feel more confident about my smile. The power of a toothbrush people. Who knew.
Not to sound too much like an ad, but other electric toothbrushes easily run over $150 a piece and then the replacement heads are $25 a pop. Not with quip! I got the starter set for $45 and the individual replacement heads are only $5. Love it!
I know, who takes multiple pictures of their toothbrush, even for a blog post, but not only is this thing functional, it’s pretty too!
I also love that you can sign up for automatic refills and don’t have to worry about knowing when to ditch the old head! And they’re suction cup mirror holder that doubles as a travel cover is genius and super easy to clean.
If you use this referral link you’ll get your first $5 brush refill head for free!

And last but not least on the essentials roundup:
3. Shoe Inserts
We’ve all had shoes that we absolutely love until they’re on our feet for more than an hour. And I’m sure we’ve all tried the shoe inserts you find at CVS or Target to try to make our most coveted shoes work. Now, in my experience, these inserts will work for a little while, but generally aren’t the best long term fix, which is why I was so excited to find Alice Bow inserts. They’re slightly more expensive, but they’re worth it. I mean Kate Middleton is said to be a frequent user, so they’ve got to be good right? (Don’t just take my word for it, check out this article by US magazine)
I love that these inserts are made of leather, which means no more sweaty plastic or weird goo exploding from your inserts, and they’re designed to work with flats, heels, and even open-toe styles. These are great for the working gal, fellow shoe addicts (I know I’m not the only one), and for special occasions- they have a special something blue set for your wedding!
I love that they come in a variety of colors and that they have awesome deals on sets. They work best if you leave them in one set of shoes and don’t try to move them from pair to pair, so it’s worth grabbing a few at a time. Plus, who wants to be peeling out shoe inserts every morning?! Not, me.
I’ve got a few other products in mind and am considering making this into a short series. Please comment below if you’d be interested in reading more about some everyday essentials, and let me know if there’s any specific category you’re interested in!
As always, all thoughts and opinions in this post are my own. I am not being paid to share any of these products with you, I just genuinely love these things!
